We use each child’s interests and abilities to create a fun and compelling learning environment that maximizes growth and development.
Our interdisciplinary team of professionals creates a supportive group learning environment that helps children develop social, communication, and life skills.
The journey of Today’s ABA begins by listening to the child and family. During our comprehensive evaluation, the behavior analyst, speech therapist, and occupational therapist will listen to the child and family as they work together to understand the strengths and interests of the child as well as individualized areas for growth.
Through the interview and comprehensive evaluation, the behavior analyst in collaboration with the other professionals determines goals across a variety of areas, including behavior strategies, communication, social and play skills, toilet training and other life skills, school readiness, social and play skills, among others.
Therapy is typically 20-40 hours per week depending upon the needs of the child and supported by the child’s 1:1 behavior technician with oversight from the behavior analyst and ongoing team collaboration.
Today’s ABA helps the child and family in overcoming behavioral barriers to learning through facilitating a happy, relaxed, and engaged learning environment to shape core skills needed to achieve to meaningful outcomes across settings.
Cicero Today’s ABA creates a simulated school-like environment to provide both group and individual learning opportunities. Today's ABA starts by listening to the individual and those who know them best, aiming to understand behavior before attempting to change it. This process is trauma-assumed, creating joy for the individual in a way that is meaningful to them.
Today’s ABA acknowledges the need for humility and strives for continuous improvement always. It acknowledges and learns from the past and present and innovates for a better future for children and families. Today’s ABA listens to and learns from the child and family, but also from each helping professional. Today’s ABA at Cicero recognizes the need to SERVE Together.
Every decision in Today's ABA is weighed against core values of safety, dignity, and rapport. These values take precedence over procedural considerations, with a focus on creating a safe and respectful environment.

Goals are individually selected for each learner based on their strengths, weaknesses, preferences, and wider life contexts. The approach prioritizes teaching essential skills for happiness and health, such as communication, self-advocacy, self-care, and safety.
Goals are created with the child and family considering the child’s strengths, interests, and motivation in addition to behavioral barriers preventing the child and family from experiencing fulfilling activities at school, home, and in the community. Today’s ABA recognizes that all behavior is communication. Through creating a happy, relaxed, and engaged learning environment, Today’s ABA then establishes communication and continues to shape and teach core skills, such as social, play, daily living, school readiness skills, and more in the absence of behavioral barriers.
Today's ABA champions the rights of the individual receiving services as the top priority. This includes the right to communicate wants and needs, refuse or withdraw assent, and engage in activities that bring joy, even if they appear unconventional to others.
Today’s ABA brings the joy! Learning is most successful when it is fun! Each child’s team understands the child’s strengths, challenges, and interests to help foster a learning environment that is fun and enjoyable. Our team understands that that joy is different for each child. While ensuring all basic needs are always met, we also consider the child’s preferred interests, activities, people, sensory needs, and more.
Today's ABA rejects practices such as ignoring distress, forced compliance, forced eye contact, attempts to eliminate self-stimulatory behaviors (stims), and the goal of curing or normalizing neurodivergent individuals.
Cicero’s mission to create comprehensive and collaborative teams is key to successful Today’s ABA. Each child has unique abilities and areas of growth. A diverse team of professionals, each with expert knowledge in a particular skill area, collaborating together with the child at the center of care leads to the best possible outcomes for the child and family.
In response to past criticisms of ABA, Today's ABA acknowledges the need for humility and continuous improvement. It strives to listen to feedback, adapt to evolving perspectives, and rectify mistakes for a more inclusive and responsive approach.

Child’sPlay Therapy and Cicero Therapies are amazing companies to have a career with! They truly care about the career goals of each of their employees.
I’ve been able to further my clinical education in specialized topics that interest me through the support of Child’sPlay Therapy Center. I’ve also been able to pursue my passion for administration by joining the Cicero Recruitment Team.
The ability to engage in so many areas that I’m passionate about, including clinical work, research, and supporting the development of new practitioners, is incredibly unique and fulfilling.
As a speech-language pathologist, I bridge the gap between communication barriers and boundless possibilities with a company that allows its employees to grow in a safe and nurturing space.
The very best part about working at K1ds Count Therapy/Cicero Therapies, is working alongside other leaders who help unlock your “superpowers”, even the ones that you don’t know exist inside you. The journey from being an RBT to a Behavior Analyst was the realization of my own professional dreams. While on this journey, I was surrounded by leaders and fellow therapists who pushed me to embody both my professional values and dreams, but also the overarching goal to provide comprehensive and collaborative care to our clients. As a Behavior Analyst and a clinical leader now, I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to help others unlock their own superpowers. The joy of giving that back across a network of therapists and clients fills my bucket with motivation!
